01 — About me

About me

Hello, I`m a digital artist. I work under the artistic pseudonym Sasha Svetoch (abbreviated name- Sasha2004art).

I am a contemporary artist originally from Saint Petersburg, Russia, and currently based in Belgrade, Serbia.

I have been involved in painting for nine years. I began studying art as an adult, initially as a personal passion, and received training from an academically educated artist in Saint Petersburg. My artistic journey started with oil painting, but one year before emigrating from Russia, I discovered digital art and began working with Procreate on a tablet. I have been doing digital painting for the last six years.

My work explores various aspects of contemporary life, with a particular focus on the image of the modern woman. I am fascinated by contemporary women, both visually and psychologically. Today, many women are experiencing a unique period of personal growth, self-discovery, and re-evaluation of their place in society. Traditional social expectations no longer exert the same influence they once did, while new identities and social models are still emerging. This creates a remarkable moment of transformation that I find deeply inspiring as an artist.

Most of my works are created for interior spaces, combining aesthetic appeal with thoughtful observation of the world around us. Through my paintings, I seek to capture the complexity, individuality, and evolving identity of contemporary women.

Artistic concept

I am a contemporary artist whose work explores various aspects of modern life. Most of my artworks are intended for interior spaces, combining aesthetic appeal with thoughtful observation of the world around us.

A central focus of my artistic research is the image of the contemporary woman. I find modern women fascinating both visually and internally. They are living through a unique period of personal growth and re-evaluation of their role in today's society.

Traditional social expectations no longer exert the same level of influence, while new models and identities are still in the process of taking shape. This creates a remarkable moment of transition and transformation.

As an artist, I am deeply inspired by the opportunity to observe and explore this process. My work seeks to reflect the complexity, beauty, strength, and individuality of contemporary women as they navigate an ever-changing world.

Denmark / India

· Digital painting

This a triptych entitled Find Someone Like You in Another Country, consisting of three works: Denmark/India, Kenya/England, and South Korea/Mexico. In each portrait, I combine the visual features and characteristics of two women from different cultural backgrounds into a single harmonious image. The resulting portraits transcend national and cultural boundaries, inviting viewers to reflect on common humanity rather than difference. I intentionally leave the final interpretation open to the audience.
